I have updated the program and restarted the computer several times however the reader is still not detected. I tried 4 versions and the only one that works with DigitalPersona authebtec 7.

I had the same thing happen, and determined that you have to go back to an earlier version of the Authentec driver to make it work. Didn’t find authenttec you were looking for? Even after reinstalling it all it still won’t recognize. Installing Digital persona resulted in no reader detected all of the time, despite following instructions on this forum.
